12 The EA8100 contains 2 firmware partitions. Using the Linksys UI will flash openwrt into only one of the 2 partitions. The booting process switches partition every few boots, so if you want to always boot into openwrt then you have to flash openwrt into both partitions.

14 **Images do not contain LuCi! (The build process doesn't include it for some reason I have not yet time to figure out.)** You need to have the squashfs.bin flashed, then opkg update and opkg install luci.

16 How to flash if your router currently has stock Linksys firmware:

18 1. Flash the "**initramfs-factory.img**" via Linksys UI. Wait for it to start to reboot.
19 1. Configure your computer to have ip in 192.168.1.0/24 subnet but NOT 192.168.1.1. (so, use 192.168.1.2.) Start ping to 192.168.1.1.
20 1. Cross your fingers that the router boots openwrt. Otherwise keep rebooting until it loads the openwrt partition. (Usually 3 times max.) Wait a few minutes from reboot to let it load. If you get ping response from 192.168.1.1 it means openwrt loaded.
21 1. Scp the "**squashfs-sysupgrade.bin**" into /tmp in the router. root@192.168.1.1. No password.
22 1. Log in as root via SSH into shell. No password.
23 1. **Sysupgrade the uploaded squashfs-sysupgrade.bin**. This should flash the openwrt firmware into both firmware partitions. It auto reboots.
24 1. opkg update
25 1. **opkg install luci (the flashed images does not contain Luci)**
26 1. Access LuCI via http:~/~/192.168.1.1/. You can now configure.

28 If you are on my 18.x below, sysupgrading to a 19.07 image will not work. You have to manually mtd write the 19.07 "kernel-initramfs.bin" into the nand and boot/log into it (192.168.1.1), then sysupgrade.
