ESP8285 Capacitive Touch Light Switch

Capacitive touch switch, tempered glass. Tuya firmware. Uses the Smart Life app. (Your experience may vary - some come flashed with Sonoff.)

The 6 pins at the top for UART/GPIO, from left to right:

  • 3.3V
  • RX (connects to TX of your USB-to-Serial)
  • TX (connects to RX of your USB-to-Serial)
  • GPIO0 (connect this to ground before powering up to boot the ESP8285 into flash mode)
  • Reset
  • Ground

In the image below you can observe that there is a resistor out of place at the top left. When the board is fixed onto the ABS casing, the resistor comes really close to the side of the casing. In fact there is a small mark in the casing where the resistor might have touched the casing. Probably this is why it's loose:
